ELIGIBILITY: All participants must qualify at their AAU Association Championships. Four (4) players from each age flight will advance from the AAU Association Championship to the National Championship. Alternates may be chosen depending on the circumstances. AGE FLIGHT: September 1, 1999 shall be the determining date for the age of the competitor for all Association and National Championships.

ENTRY FEE: Completed entry forms, together with entry fee of $125.00, must be received by Wednesday, July 14, 1999. All entry fees must be in the form of cashier's check or money order. No personal checks will be accepted. Late or incomplete entry forms are not acceptable. Please make check payable to 1999 AAU Junior Olympic Games. Overnight delivery is strongly advised.

AAU MEMBERSHIP: All participants must be members of their AAU Association and must present their AAU membership card at athlete check-in. All qualified athletes should have purchased a membership card at the AAU Association Championship Qualifying Tournament. To purchase AAU membership cards call your AAU Association at 1-800-AAU-4USA or register instantly on line at www.aausports.org.

OFFICIAL ENTRY: All entries must be submitted on the "Official" Golf Individual Athlete Entry Form. No faxes, phone calls, or other forms of entry will be accepted. A photocopy of the entry form is acceptable.

RULES: Play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. The AAU Golf Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions or schedules herein. The decisions of the AAU Golf Committee in any matter shall be final.

COMPETITION FORMAT: Competition will consist of 36 holes of stroke play. Competition will be held at Highland Park Golf Course on Thursday, August 5 and Friday, August 6, 1999.

PRACTICE ROUND: Practice rounds at Highland Park Golf Course are available by tee times 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4th. Tee times will be assigned when registration package is received by National Chair. Be sure to identify yourself as a participant in the AAU Junior Olympic Games Golf Championship. Cost of round walking is included in entry fee. Highland Park Golf Course allows soft spikes (non-metal) only on the course. Complimentary driving range balls are included in the overall event entry fee.

RULES MEETING: Wednesday, August 4 9:00 a.m. at Highland Park Golf Course

CONDUCT CODE: Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, disrespect of volunteers or officials, use of tobacco, drugs, or alcohol, or any other unbecoming conduct) may include censure, suspension, or revocation of playing privileges.

AWARDS: AAU Junior Olympic Games medals will be awarded to athletes who place in the top six (6) in each age flight for boys and girls. The overall medalist will receive an AAU watch.

CELEBRATION CEREMONY: Celebration Ceremony will be held at Gund Arena on Wednesday, August 4 at 7:30 p.m. To facilitate your arrival at the event, the Local Organizing Committee is setting up a hassle free transportation system that will make scheduled pick-ups at convenient locations throughout the Cleveland area and deliver you right to the arena doors. At the conclusion of Celebration Ceremony, you will board the shuttles and be returned to your parking location. In order to arrive at the arena in time for the festivities, please plan to use the transportation system by utilizing the parking lots located close to your hotel. (A detailed map and parking directions will be provided at athlete check-in at the Cleveland Convention Center). Enjoy the spectacular show without the hassle of restrictive parking. Please be sure to fill out the appropriate section of your Event Registration Forms so that we can accurately plan to have enough shuttles at designated locations to pick you up! We look forward to seeing you at this year's Celebration Ceremony!

CHECK-IN: Pre-Registration: It is extremely important that all entries be received no later than the above-mentioned deadline date. ENTRY FORMS RECEIVED BEYOND THAT DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! Of course, we want as many athletes as possible to participate, so please get all entry forms in on time. Again, guaranteed overnight delivery will become mandatory if it is the only way to ensure compliance with the deadline date.

On-Site Check In: Check-in for all athletes, coaches, clubs and teams will be held at the Cleveland Convention Center located at 500 Lakeside Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon arrival at the Cleveland Convention Center, please follow posted signs to the Check-in Area. For check-in hours, mapping, and specific directions from locations throughout Greater Cleveland, please consult your Athletes', Coaches' and Parents' Handbook. All golf athletes are to also check-in on site at Highland Park Golf Course on Wednesday, August 4th.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Mandatory check-in at the Cleveland Convention Center for all golfers will take place from 8 a.m. - 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, August 3rd.

HOUSING: All requests for housing will be handled by LCI Travel. Simply call our toll free number and make your reservations at 1-888-524-8785. A list of hotels and areas in which they are located can be found in the Athletes', Coaches', and Parents' Handbook, review this information and then call the reservations number. Be sure to have the following information ready:

IMPORTANT: Please note all hotels will send a confirmation with their individual cancellation policies. Each hotel may differ. If you have not received a confirmation within 30 days of making your reservation, please contact LCI Travel.

Dormitory housing will also be available at Cleveland State University and Baldwin-Wallace College. Ask the operator for details!
